Miscarriage

Myth: I’ll probably miscarry, so I don’t have to decide between a termination and parenting.

Statistics say that four out of five women who know they are pregnant, DON’T miscarry. AND you’re more likely to miscarry if you’re older than younger. Don’t rely on you being one of these statistics to make the choice for you.

Myth: If I drink lots or take drugs I’ll probably miscarry.

Drinking heavily, taking drugs or starving yourself won’t necessarily cause a miscarriage. Research shows that drinking or drug use during pregnancy increases the risk of birth defects, however as there is no determined “safe amount” of alcohol or drug use during pregnancy, it is best to steer clear. While they are unlikely to cause a miscarriage, they can make you very sick and potentially endanger YOUR health, more so than the fetus.
